My Experience

When I was young, I was always curious about the creation of films, how did human and objects being captured and projected on televisions and screens? 

During my visit to Universal Studio in Los Angeles when I was 8 years old, it was a real eye-opener to me having experienced in film shooting studios. Even though it was just few minutes of experience, every details of the experience still appear vividly in my mind. This is how I was inspired to pursue further about filming. 

At the age of 12 I started dancing during my years in high school, I did my first dance choreography for teacher’s day. To my surprise I have received lots of positive feedbacks and praises from my teachers and school mates. Since then I was named the 'dancing queen' in the school and I have always been  elected to choreograph and perform on most of the school events.

After graduation of High School, I have picked a subject that I was interested in which was audio subject related to media and film in School of Audio Engineering (SAE).

My 3-year Diploma study in SAE has inspired me even further to pick media technology to build my career path. After the second year of study, I realized film making was the most interesting subject to me as it requires great team work and integrating every individual’s creativity during shooting session to produce outstanding films.

Currently, I am in my final BA degree in Film at Middlesex University for nearly 7months. My choice of obtaining a degree in UK is to enhance my technological skill and learn the know-how of film production works. During college time I have learnt most of the practical work and have not been doing much theory.

What I've learnt now other than the practical work, I have also learnt about how to write essay and script regarding to film and I had a great opportunity to produce my very first own short film. It was an awesome experience to enjoy all the fun and excitement while creating the short film. Besides, I have became more independent during my stay in UK.

On the downside, over the last 7 months, I have experienced headaches and stressful moments which I was being challenged to cope them. But I felt achieved and satisfied especially when the script and production were completed. After all, I realized that production is not easy as 1,2.3. Therefore, I’m extremely excited and looking very much forward to hear the response and feedback from the viewers. If possible, I would like to submit my film to Student Film Festival Award to test the quality of my produced film.

Lastly, I consider myself as a cooperative team player and a  committed person. I always give my best in everything that I do. Hopefully, my ambition of career path will be working in the media industry, ideally working in film production.

Having this blog with me now as my portfolio, I think it is very important for me to understand better of myself. It is also very useful for me to promote my showreel in the future.

What Are My Goals For The Future?

How do I see myself in 5 years time? Hopefully not just a mere housewife but a very successful professional Producer or Director. It would be great to work in the field of Dance Music Videos in the future. Alternatively is to work under the film industry. I also wish to have an opportunity to work and learn from well known professionals for the production if I had a chance. 

Once I gained more experience, I will make a step further to have my own Music Video Company which is not many in Malaysia at the moment and be able to use my skills to choreograph and direct at the same time. I would also like to promote some undiscovered talents in Malaysia. I hope my name will be known and recognized  by most people in the Asian countries. Therefore, I will definitely focus on my goals and I strongly believe that I can  achieve my goals in the future. Hopefully, by doing what I love will bring the people a better entertainment in the filming industry.
